What happens when I leave the app?

If you leave the app while a session is live, a 10-second mercy timer starts. If you don't return before it hits zero, you are eliminated.

Elimination Criteria

When a session is live, you must keep the app in the foreground. If you leave, the system triggers the 10-second mercy timer. If you do not return before it hits zero, you are eliminated.

TriggerSwitching to another app (Instagram, Mail, Messages).
TriggerLocking your phone (screen off).
SafeReceiving a notification (banner only, do not click).

Server Clock

The timer runs on our server, not your device. Changing your system time has no effect. Everyone in the lobby sees the exact same countdown.

Forfeit Honor

Emergency happens. You can choose to "Forfeit" legally. You still lose the session, but your reputation score takes a smaller hit than if you ghosted.

Recruit Mercy Rule

First-time users ("Recruits") get a 30-second grace window instead of 10 seconds for their first 3 matches. Use this time to adjust your Do Not Disturb settings.
